Found me watch, me brother thought it would be a funny idea to hide it on me, in the tube ov a loo roll. I didnt see the funny side.
Anyways i have jus finished a painting for me reflections project and i think it has worked well, even though this picture dusnt do it justice.

I have currently started another reflection painting ov my watch, its a gud picture am painting, lets hope the final product is.
The project i am doing on my mum, i have started a painting ov her, am also in the next few days, going to complete smaller paintings of her. Am going to try and get more ov my work up on here to show you guys.
O, and just a suggestion. What about organising a trip to london for a day or two for the galleries? jus a suggestion.

I did have a lot to write today about todays session, but i have lost me watch and i am fuminggg. Tipped me room upside down, scanned the house about ten times and i still cant find it. Me brother is going to kill me, its the first one he bought me i broke it, oppss. Anyways hopefully i will remeber wha i was going to write, so i will update tomorow.

Am really thinking about moving away from painting and going down a different path. i love painting but i feel like theres no future in it. its becoming very rare you see paintings in gallery these days, this is proberly just me, if it is anyone wana help show me that i am wrong, please, haha.
anyways last week, i sort ov had a lazy week (i have them a lot) so am going to try and make up for that this week. av jus finished preperation for a painting of my mum, hopefully i will have it finished sumtime next week but i will take photographs ov the journey.
For my relfections project, it feels like i have hit a brick wall, just dont feel motivated to open my sketchbook and start working, hopefully this will subside and i mite actually gt some work done in this project.
Plus, am finking playing round with sculpture just to try and get away from painting for a bit.

Over the past two days av been considering changing my project for the drawing and media. initially i was going to do portraits, but after Monday, it sort of changed my view on making art. i dont how to describe it but i wanted my art to mean something, to be more personal to me and my life. After lengthy consideration, (bout 10 mins, ha) i decided to base my project on my mum.
mum suffered from a quiet bad stroke last year, affecting her life and daily routines. one of the outcomes of this stroke was her emotions. for no reason at all she will burst out laughing. At first this was a bit weird as you would say something bad has happened and she would burst out laughing. anyways back to the point, i want to try and capture this quality about her through my chosen media (traditional) and also a lot of sketches from life of her (which will be hard as she never sits still) i shall keep yas up to date with this.
oh before i forget, totally pissed off today, second years nearly killing me with their spray painting lockers, wasn't happy at all. PEACE x

i have never wrote a blog before, so please forgive me if it makes no sense what so ever.
So were do i start? Firstly my name is Stephen McFarlane, am 20 years of age and i live and was raised in Norris Green, Liverpool. And before you ask, no its not that bad like they made it out on the documentary, its worse. (that's a joke by the way) My chosen specialism is painting, although after today's talks with Jackie and John am thinking of branching off into other areas. I have always chosen painting because i enjoy it and consider myself good at it, so i have never experimented with other mediums. Maybe now is the time to, not complete go away from painting but to open my eyes to other ways of making art.
Last week, i was unable to make the critical context lesson due to a, lets say post derby illness, ha ha. When i found out that we were to write a blog i completely dismissed the idea, but when listening to Jackie explain how it could help us throughout, not only our time in university
but also in our careers as artists. Am very optimistic about all the ideas that were thrown about today about the social gatherings and events were us students can get together and discuss, well basically anything. I personally, find it very difficult to socialise with people because i am a shy an introvert person, until you get to no me, then i wont shut up.
Anyways i don't no what to write now but i look forward to reading what about other students feelings towards the course and getting to know more about the people i will be with for the next 3 years. PEACE X
